MCC announces Wichman and Eggleston as Vice Presidents

McLennan Community College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Chad Eggleston as Vice President of Instruction and Student Engagement, and Dr. Laura Wichman as Vice President of Strategic Planning and Enrollment.

Dr. Chad EgglestonEggleston comes to MCC from Baylor University where he spent three years as the Assistant Vice Provost for Academic Operations and Advising. Eggleston previously served MCC as the Dean of Arts and Sciences from 2017-2021.Prior to joining the MCC staff, Eggleston served in various roles including Assistant Professor, Special Assistant to the Provost, Assistant Provost, Associate Provost, Associate Dean and Dean at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama.

Eggleston holds a Bachelor of Arts from Samford University along with a Master of Divinity and Doctorate of Philosophy in Religion from Duke University.

Dr. Laura WichmanWichman is a long-time member of the MCC staff, serving in various roles at the College since 2008. She began her time at MCC as a Database and Administration Specialist before becoming Institutional Effectiveness Specialist, Coordinator of Institutional Effectiveness, Senior Research Analyst and Director of Institutional Research. Most recently, Wichman was the Chief Research and Effectiveness Officer. She is also an Adjunct Instructor for Business Programs. Additionally, she serves as SACS-COC Institutional Liaison, and will play a primary roll in the transition to the new funding model through House Bill 8.

Wichman holds four degrees from MCC: Associate of Applied Science in Microcomputer Applications, Associate of Applied Science in Web Technologies, Associate of Applied Science in Multimedia Management and Production, and Associate of Arts in General Academics. She received a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Management and Leadership from Tarleton State University, and a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education from Texas A&M University – Commerce.
